Introduction: As a 12 year old kid, I knew that I wanted to be a force in the world of
Track and Field. Like all other young boy sports fans, I had my heroes, and would watch
in amazement as they ran the way that I to this day strive to do. In my second season as a
runner I started hurdling. I would look for track meets on television and would watch in
the utmost concentration. That second year of running is when I first saw this man run the
hurldes with so much skill and speed that I knew I found my new role model, Roger
Kingdom. I admire Roger Kingdom for his Determination throughout his career, his
charity for less fortunate athletes and children and the desire that he demonstrates in all of
his daily activities.
