"Land of Opportunity?"
"Black Coaches Union Threaten to Sway Recruits", read the headline in a recent USA Today newspaper. This is "blatant racism", many observers blasted back. Normally these few headlines wouldn't have held too much weight with my conscious, but after a reading about the roots of America I was then forced to look deeper at this conflict. I wasn't looking at this conflict directly, but rather I was looking at the surface of another conflict, if you can call it that. I like to call it an idea. What does it mean to be black in this world? What does it mean to be black in America? How do I view America? Does everyone have a fair chance?..
