EATING DISORDERS
Many women are concerned with their appearance. Too many of them are caught up with the image of being skinny and pretty. By seeing all the beautiful, thin women in the media and in society, they may feel insecure about the way they look. Therefore, they try and do anything they can to have that model-like appearance. Methods they use to try and achieve this are Anorexia, Bulimia, and diet pills all to look thin and "beautiful".
One of the two most common ways of women trying to lose weight is by an eating disorder called Anorexia also known as anorexia nervosa. Anorexia is characterized by a significant weight loss resulting from excessive dieting. Anorexics consider themselves to be fat, no matter what their actual weight is. A person with anorexia may also feel the only control they have in their lives is in the area of food and weight. Not getting enough nutrition into your body is unhealthy and can cause you to have serious medical problems or even worse than that...
