The movie is meatn to be universal or that the theme can be understood over time and everywhere. It is set "in the future." Alex and his buddies rob, rape, and are generaly bad thugs. Evetually Alex gets arrogant and too controlling. His buddies conspire to bring him down. Well he gets caught and sent to prison for 14 years. He tries to be a model prisoner (uliek his real self) so he can get into an experimental program. In the program he is exposed to various films of terrible crimes and sexual content and given drugs that make him extremely sick. He even has his eyes kept open so he has to watch the films. In the backgourn is playing Beethoven music...
