Fad Diets
Everyone wants to lose weight, right? According to the National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion, the prevalence of obesity among adults in the United States increased 74 percent between 1991 and 2001 and it seems the number of diets on the market has increased tenfold in recent years. From low carbohydrate diets to single food diets to diet pillsare any of them safe? Are any of them effective? The following is a discussion of several fad diets on the market, their effectiveness, how healthy they are, and where possible, where they came from.
Low Carbohydrate Diets
