The Thieves' Opera is a story of two of the most famous criminals in England, Jonathan Wild and Jack Sheppard. Jonathan Wild moved to London from Wolverhampton and became the most successful theif taker in London which is someone who retrieves stolen items and brings the criminals to justice. Wild was a criminal mastermind who had the thieves working for him secretly while maintaining the identity that he was a man of justice. Jack Sheppard was more of a wild man. He was a thief who became very popular because of the stories told about him breaking out of prison several times by digging through walls and climbing down buildings using his sheets. Wild tried very hard to bring Sheppard down because Sheppard refused to be controlled by Wild. This struggle led to the demise and deaths...
