Hanging the Opposition
Say if you were murdered, would you want the people who survived you to seek justice by having the prosecution enforce the death penalty on the convicted killer? This is a large issue is today's society. The death penalty has been used for centuries, even the Bible refers to executions being performed. This issue is a worldwide topic, but more importantly it is a great issue in our nation. Our country is a conglomerate of people. In 2002, a Gallup poll stated that 72% of the American public is in support of the death penalty (California). That's more than what congress needs to pass a bill, only needing 2/3 majority vote. With this many Americans in favor of capital punishment, what's the big problem? Problem is that the minority of the nation feels that it is immoral to kill a citizen. The public is deemed uneducated when it comes to the death penalty...
