Throughout the journey of time, a relationship between the cosmic noise and humans has long been pondered and questioned. The interaction between people and their habitats is a column of the human psyche, but even more so, the interaction between people and the music or sound of the environment. For this lone reason, the music must relate to the time and people of wherever it is present. This defines a good concerto, opus, or even album. The Beatles, one of the single greatest recording acts of all time, made four good albums; Sergeant Pepper's, Magical Mystery Tour, Rubber Soul and The White Album. However, The Abbey Road EP is one of the most overrated albums in the history of popular music.
An album is many things, a statement by the artist, a portrait of current affairs but always in context, what is said is said, and what is played is played. The Beatles struggle with these criteria in their recording of Abbey Road. Their attempt to contemporize the songs on the album is weak, and whatever `statements' are made are vague at best. The remoteness of relating "Come Together" as a song of peace, something to unite the younger generation is disputed...
