Daimler Chrysler is one of the leading global organizations today with 421,000 employees worldwide and sales over $130 billion. In May 1998 Company went under the merger between Daimler Benz and Chrysler Corporation, this was to be the biggest industrial merger in history, also this created the worlds third largest automotive company after GM and Ford.
The merger between Daimler Benz GmbH and Chrysler Corp has been the major strategic activity, this has brought much attention to automotive industry .Although the two were vastly different Daimler Benz was strongly established and was seen as a stable German company specialising in luxury cars, where as Chrysler an American company well established in the mini van and sport utility vehicle sector. Both of the two were involved in manufacturing of battle tanks during the world war two now were involved in a merger of equal size which revolutionised the world automobile sector.
A SWOT analysis as well as Pest analysis and Stakeholder analysis will be used to examine the success of Daimler Chrysler its merger and look briefly into the differences between the companies. We will also give a conclusion to this report with support of some recommendations and strategies.
It has been seen controversial by many the term used such as merger. The reason for this is that technically it is not a merger as it would leave Chrysler to its disappearance.
