How can we recycle more effectively?
Our trash problem is growing bigger every day. Many reusable materials are being thrown into dumps along with non-reusable materials. The reusable materials, many of which are not biodegradable, cannot be reused if they are not separated from non-reusable materials. Recycling more effectively would include more media attention to get people aware of this ever-growing problem, making recycling more convenient for more people, and recycling a bigger variety of items. Because this would dramatically reduce the overall volume of waste in dumps, recycling more effectively would reduce our trash problem.
As of right now, there is virtually no media attention to address the immense problem of trash distribution. If the public is aware of how important it is to recycle as much as possible, there would be a smaller amount of usable materials being wasted and taking up valuable space. When most people throw something out, they don't think about where it is going or that the object they are throwing out could be recycled. If they realize that every little bit they throw out counts, since it adds up after time, they might reevaluate some of their decisions to throw away valuable materials...
