Alcoholism can often get confused with alcohol abuse, but there is a difference. There are many things that differ as a matter of fact. The definition of alcoholism is as follows: Alcoholism is a chronic, often progressive disease that can be fatal. The condition involves a preoccupation with alcohol and impaired control over alcohol intake.
