The purpose of the study is to define the anatomy and isometry of the medial patellofemoral ligament. The reason for this study to have a better idea where this ligament is and where it really attaches to the bones. This will help with surgical operations to repair this ligament in the long run. For the study they used 11 fresh frozen cadaveric knees from seven cadavers. In the study they couldn't totally dismantle the knee. They only used the knees for total joint training purposes. The knees came from seven knees were from male cadavers and four from female cadavers. All the cadavers were old and had no knee had prior surgery on it in which effected the ligament. or its normal anatomic relationships.
