Should have same adoption and second parent rights as heterosexual couples
Today society would have you believe that Gay and Lesbians can adopt children just as if they were a heterosexual couple. What they don't tell you is that they don't have the same rights as a heterosexual couple does to adopt a child. To become a second parent they have to file a second parent petition to become the second parent and the wait for the results of that petition to come back. If they are lucky enough to get this petition the child does not get the same security of that second parent as a child does in a heterosexual relationship. If the second parent dies in a heterosexual relationship the child gets benefits such as life insurance. If the second parent dies in a Gay/ Lesbian relationship the child does not get life insurance money or anything else. The child in a heterosexual relationship can get medical benefits form the second parents job, if the job provides medical. If the job of a Gay/Lesbian provides medical the child does not have the option to receive it...
