Because of economics and politics my dream of pursuing a higher education in my country of Mexico was negated. I, like many other immigrants, have always looked to America as a place that embraces opportunities for people with dreams. I feel proud of being able to be here, in this country, to continue my dream of one day graduating from Undergraduate Studies and going on to Graduate School. I dream of giving my family a better life. I dream of being a Professor of Broadcast and Electronic Communications. I dream of being a positive influence in my community. I dream of giving my daughters every opportunity that I didn't have. I dream of someday mentoring young adults that have come to this country with dreams and hopes just like mine. But even in America, dreams don't come true just by wishing them.
There are many sacrifices that are and have been made just for me to be able to be here...
