Abstract
Lupus is an auto immune disease that affects several parts and organs of the body. There are several kinds of lupus; Discoid Lupus Erythematosus, Neonatal Lupus, Drug-induced Lupus, and Systemic Lupus. The causes of lupus are unknown, but can be linked to several environmental factors. There is no single test to determine if one has lupus. There are a variety of tests that are given over a period of time. Diagnosing lupus can take months or even years because many of the symptoms are the same as other diseases. There is no cure for lupus. There are many treatment options available. Several types of drugs to treat lupus are nonsteroidal inflammatory drugs, antimalarials, and corticosteroids.
