Close to ten years ago, to find company information you needed to directly connect with such a person or go through a series of steps trying to locate the person. Now, in today's vast improving world of technology, we are just a click away from gaining the knowledge to about anything and everything we want. Today, if a company needs information on a certain person within the company, an employee directory is usually the first place they go looking for the information, something that takes just seconds to find the answers one needs.
The employee directory I designed would be of great benefit to a company. The directory I established would be on the Intranet and Extranet so that employees of the company as well as clients outside of the company could look up and get in contact with an employee if needed. Although open through the Intranet and Extranet, it would be protected by a password so that everyone that has access to the directory would be given one for security reasons. Therefore, no one from the outside would find out about the company. For the different levels of employment, there would be different access levels. Someone from another company who needed access to the employee directory would be allowed to enter their guest user name and the password assigned to them by the administrator. The guest would be able to either enter someone's last name, first name, phone number, or department and then search for that person and find out all that information and their e-mail address...
