Kant is a very organized and categorized philosopher. His work is very unique and a bit hard to decipher. Kant brings up many interesting points on taste, satisfaction, beauty and how it relates to judgment. Through applying Kant's "invested interest approach" we can begin to determine why we feel the way we do about certain things.
Of satisfaction, Kant explains that if we find satisfaction with an object it is because we desire it or have some interest in it. This "interest" refers to the object helping us in some way whether deliberately or not. Kant says all satisfaction is a sensation of pleasure. We estimate a things worth, or our satisfaction with it, by the level of gratification it promises. Kant says everyone seeks this gratification but each person is different in the way they seek the gratification. Thus, this is why everyone desires different things...
