Should Race Be A Consideration in College Admissions?
It's your senior year in high school and you are determined to make the right decision in selecting the most appropriate and respectable college there is. You have a 4.0 GPA and are currently involved many extra-curricular activities both scholastically and socially, but you are Caucasian. Why could that be a downfall? Statistics show that if you are normally in the top 5% of your class, Caucasian and have a potential purpose in today's society, you are eligible to attend an Ivy League school such as, the University of Michigan or perhaps Yale University. Giving no thanks to affirmative action, this student has a possibility of not getting accepted to their college of choice. This is caused primarily because race has now been considered a focal point in admissions throughout colleges in the U.S. Nevertheless, if the student above is cloned, but is Afro-American instead of Caucasian, there is a stronger possibility that they will be selected to join the organization...
