VOCABULARY WORDS 1. anomalous (pg. 113)-something irregular or abnormal The anomalous event caused friction between everyone. 2. fulminating (pg. 138)-exploding The fulminating liquid came bursting out the top of the volcano. 3. seismic (pg. 139)-Of, subject to, or caused by an earthquake or earth vibration After the earthquake, the seismic tremors were felt all day long. 4. bayoneted (pg. 163)- to prod or stab The memories of her horrible capture bayoneted through her mind. 5. tarpaulins (pg. 179)- sheets of waterproof canvas The furniture in the room was covered with canvas tarpaulins in order to protect them. 6. jargon (pg.188)- the specialized language of a trade or profession Speaking in jargon, I was unable to determine what they were saying.
