The epic poem Beowulf and the film Braveheart share many qualities, but what stands out most are the heroes of the two. Beowulf and William Wallace, the respected protagonists of Beowulf and Braveheart, are both seemingly invincible characters with all the extraordinary traits required of a champion for the people. Their expertise in leadership is unmatched throughout the land. They are the ultimate leaders who risk their lives countless times for immortal glory, and for the good of others. They are Gods among men that fight for their own rightful reasons.
Another heroic trait of Beowulf is his ability to put his people's welfare before his own. Beowulf's uncle is king of the Geats so he is sent as a representative to help rid the Danes of the evil Grendel. Beowulf risks his own life for the Danes, asking help from no one. He realizes the hazards facing him but fears nothing for his own life. After Beowulf had served his people as King of the Geats for fifty years, he goes to battle one last time to fight a horrible demonic serpent that is frightening all of his people...
