Left vs Right Brain

The thought of different sides of the brain, the left and the right, is a concept that was developed in the late 1960s by an American psychobiologist, Roger W Sperry. This theory of the structure and functions of the mind suggests that the two different sides of the brain control two different modes of thinking. It also suggests that each of us prefers one mode over the other. Here Roger discovered that the human brain has many different ways of thinking. One is the left brain, it is verbal and processes information in an analytical and sequential way, looking first at the pieces then putting them together to get the whole. The other is the right brain, it is visual and processes information in an intuitive and simultaneous way, looking first at the whole picture then the details. Through much observation Sperry was able to do much further research of the left and right brain that is discussed below.
People can be considered as more left brain oriented by the many characteristics they can be broken down unto. The characteristics that make up the left brain are Verbal, focusing on words, symbols, numbers, Analytical, led by logic, to process ideas sequentially, step by step, using words to remember things, remember names rather than faces, making logical deductions from information, working up to the whole step by step, focusing on details, information organized, being highly organized, making lists and planning, follow rules without questioning them, keeping track of time, spelling and mathematical
formula easily memorized, enjoying observing, planning ahead, likely read an instruction manual before trying, listening to what is being said, rarely use gestures when talking, and likely to believe you're not creative, need to be willing to try and take risks to develop your potential.
