Summary
Women students are often singled out or ignored because of their sex, and it makes them feel less confident than the men students. Universities conducted surveys to tell if they met the needs of the women students. Teachers without knowing it often treat their students differently and provide help to their own sex.
In a study done to tell if people "devalue women" they found that among two paintings when they were graded the women's received a lower evaluation. Women also scored women lower than men. They also found out that we think poorly of women who seem to masculine and males who seem too feminine. "A woman student may have to outperform her male peers to be taken seriously by her professors."
Male students in a primary school are treated better with more information given and more praise than women students. The classrooms also by default have a more masculine setting...
