This is Art Major Essay
Anything can be art but not everything is art. No, I am not trying to twist your brain or anything like that but seriously think about that statement. If everything was art then this paper your reading is a masterpiece and the ink on it is as well. I didn't create the paper or the ink but its art just because it is. In order for something to be called art there have to be certain qualifications that have to be met. Art has to have a process, convey a meaning, use instrument(s) other than your hands to create the masterpiece and it has to make the audience think.
Wouldn't it be cool if we could all create art by just throwing paint on a paper and calling it a masterpiece? If it were that easy then we would all be artists. The process that goes into the artwork is essential into it being art. Did the artist research the audience or create things from memory?..
