Introduction
The Bible is a collection of divinely inspired books written by a diverse group of men ranging from a fisherman and tax collector to prophets and kings. It is a record of man's search for God and God's revelation to man through His son Jesus Christ.
The Bible
The Bible is divided into two major parts, the Old Testament and the New Testament. There are sixty six books in total contained in the Bible. Thirty nine are found in the Old Testament and twenty seven in the New Testament. It was written over a span of 1500 years by approximately forty men in three different languages. Portions of the books of Daniel and Nehemiah were written in Aramaic, the rest of the Old Testament was written in Hebrew, and the New Testament was written in Greek.
With such a diverse group of men whose different characters and temperaments were shaped and molded by their differing socioeconomic backgrounds and geographical environments, one would expect the Bible to be filled with inaccuracies, inconsistencies, and contradictions. Yet the opposite is true. The Bible presents unity in content and theme because even though God used a diverse group of men to write the Bible, He was the one who ultimately authored it...
