The Drill Press is a common piece of industrial equipment found in many workshops.
This tool is used to drill holes in wood and metal. It is better for this task than a hand drill
because it allows you to create a far more precise hole, providing both stability and accuracy.
Drilling with a drill press is one of the most common of the metal cutting processes to be done by
a person who is not a machinist. However despite the drill press's common use and relatively
easy operation, it has the potential to inflict terrible injury if not handled correctly.
Before Operating
Always read the instructions in the owners manual before using a drill press. Before
operation ask for instruction on how to properly use the equipment. Never use a piece of shop
equipment which you have not been properly instructed on the use of. Before beginning any work
ensure that you are wearing acceptable clothing and safety protection. Wear safety goggles and
