Why Are We Still in Iraq?
War is a terrible way to make a decision. Wars always come with pain and suffering, but every war has few certain expected consequences, both good and bad. Good outcomes are usually saved for countries that are declared the victor. Bad outcomes, other than the pain and suffering, are usually reserved for the losing side. A couple of good outcomes are, becoming free or keeping what belongs to you, and a couple of bad outcomes are losing your freedom or the destruction of your homeland. Our war with Iraq has had a bit of both outcomes. It has freed them from a cruel and selfish dictator, but it has also damaged the Iraqi land and many of our and their people have died. Now the postwar clean up is at hand, and the question still remains. Should the United States still have its hand in Iraq?..
