drifters

Both of the poems, drifters and , talk about how women are not treated as equals. Their emotions are not worried after by their husbands. They do what they do without taking any regard to how their wives feel. The women just do as they’re told, but are getting fed up about it but don’t do anything about it. Both the wives in the two poems didn’t have friends. Because one wasn’t allowed out to socialize, and the other moved from place to place too often to keep any. ‘Drifters’ is about a family who keep moving from one place to another, due to the father because his job requires him to. The image of the berries show the man is a fruit picker who moves around in search of the fruits that are in season. This would mean he is from a low social economic background.
