Illiteracy In America
Reading is essential for everyone and is a necessity for a successful, well-rounded life. Today, at least thirty-five million people are illiterate to a certain extent. Although many of these people can read on a rudimentary level, they need higher levels of literacy to function successfully in our society (Adult Literary Service). Illiteracy not only affects an individual, but also the society of the United States. This problem induces poverty in our country, therefore affecting the economy. The government should consider illiteracy as a hindering problem for the U.S. and should stop at nothing to cease this problem.
