I'm wearing an orange shirt today. Well, sort of orange. Faded orange. My roommate Christine thinks it's actually salmon, and I think the idea of wearing pink is ridiculous. So we've agreed to not talk about it anymore. But the shirt is about the best I could do in terms of dressing up for Halloween this year. And it's more than I've done since I was 14.
I've never been great at the costume part of Halloween. I could do the candy. In fact, gathering huge quantities of it through exhaustive trips around our large neighborhood, bartering for the best pieces, squirreling the loot away for those lean months after Christmas and before Valentine's Day and Easter, these accomplishments made Halloween one of my favorite holidays as a child...
