Art is a cultural endeavor. We can study and analyze cultures by learning about their literature, visual art, and music. Art is not an unnecessary luxury that might or might not be desirable. It's an inspiring effort that awakens our hidden senses and motivates us to think beyond what we normally do. Students should be required to learn and exercise art mostly in the early stages of their education.
While education starts from the second that a human being find himself in the arms of his mother, the formal education starts from the time that children enter the elementary school and face the mandatory disciplines that they should learn and comprehend completely. Mathematics, science, reading and other mainstream subjects are the realms that receive the most attention and emphasis during the elementary school. However, arts such as music, dance, painting, sculpting and in general visual arts are crucial for students to establish the foundation that helps them to grasp and enjoy the life as it appears to them.
Simply put, students should be required to study art as much as mainstream courses during their education in elementary and middle school. Studying art will stimulate the creativity and imagination of the students and help them to convey their inner senses through the chosen medium...
