Ku Klux Klan
Men in white robes and a hooded white masks rode in to black communities in the middle of the night on horses, also with a white sheet covering them. These men were known as the Ku Klux Klan. The group started shortly after the Civil War ended with a group of southern men who didn't want the blacks to have freedom that they had earned. The Ku Klux Klan has a dark history and despite that, the group is still alive today, but they are not as active as when the group first started in the 1860's.
The Ku Klux Klan was started during the mid 1860's to early 1870's by a group of white secret society that was against the advancement of blacks and also Jews and also when the Emancipation Proclamation was issued. Emancipation Proclamation was issued January 1, 1863 to give African Americans forever freedom in the United States of America. Many confederate army veterans were angry with this law that was made, and soon after the Klan was formed.
The Ku Klux Klan was formed as a social club by group of confederate army veterans in Pulaski, Tennessee in 1865 or 1866.
