Keep Marijuana Illegal
Marijuana has been an issue of debate for many years. There are many arguments for the legalization for this substance. Activist for legalization argue that no one has ever died from smoking marijuana and that it is less harmful then tobacco and alcohol. They also state that the only person marijuana affects is the user and is not addictive. However, marijuana is a drug with serious health and safety risks that affect everyone and must remain illegal.
The weakest argument to legalize marijuana is that the only one affected by it is the user, but consider the affects to public safety. Marijuana can last up to 24 hours in the users system. It has a negative impact on the user's alertness, concentration, coordination, and reaction time. We do not need doctors, nurses, teachers and others being able to smoke marijuana one evening, and operate freely at work the next day.
