When I walked into the sculpture exhibit, the first thing I saw was the surreal sculpture of a rabbit head with the body of a very muscular man. The piece attracted me instantly, even before I thought of all the possible deeper meanings to it. The name of the sculpture is The Pacification of Balangigg and the artist's name is Shem Ward. I assume that the sculpture was finished recently. It is a ceramic piece, and the media used was clay, rope, and paint. I didn't bring a measuring tape with me, but the sculpture stands almost six feet tall and is as wide as a very big man. The purpose of the sculpture, like all works of art, is to make the viewer think. Out of all the ideas I've gone through, I think more people would agree on this idea of the deeper meaning: I think that this sculpture signifies someone who is attacked in both a literal and symbolic way. The people around him try to pacify him, but they will never succeed because he won't give up.
